  1. Newsletter Happenings In-house version 18 June 2021, No.1911 ICRISAT participated in a World Environment Day (June 5) event organized by the Government of India, where Mr Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India, launched three bioethanol retail units under the E100 project. Mr Modi also announced at the event that the time target for achieving 20% ethanol-petrol blending in India has been advanced to 2025 from the earlier target of 2030. Through its BioPower strategy, ICRISAT focuses on improving its mandate crops as feedstocks for biofuel production (both 1G and 2G) without compromising the food security, and links farmers to the ethanol industry so that they can benefit from new market opportunities.
