  2. 2. <ul><li>The Lost World Project – The Adventure of a Lifetime </li></ul><ul><li>Expedition Itinerary – </li></ul><ul><li>Please note the first expedition departs London on Saturday April 2 nd , and returns on Tuesday April 12 th . The second expedition departs London on Saturday April 16 th , and returns on Tuesday April 26 th and the itinerary for both expeditions are set out below: </li></ul>
  3. 3. <ul><li>Arrive in Caracas </li></ul><ul><li>Travel to Cuidad Bolivar </li></ul><ul><li>Transfer to 4x4 and travel to starting point of the expedition – Santa Elena </li></ul><ul><li>On route pick up permits from the National Parks Office </li></ul>
  4. 4. <ul><li>4x4 tour across the Gran Sabana </li></ul><ul><li>Visit the beautiful Kama Waterfall </li></ul><ul><li>Visit the world famous Jasper Creek (pictured) </li></ul><ul><li>At night the group will get their first glimpse of Mount Roraima </li></ul>
  5. 5. <ul><li>Starting point of the trek </li></ul><ul><li>Pass savannah wildlife including giant anteaters </li></ul><ul><li>Build tents at Rio Tek Camp, next to the Kukenan River </li></ul>
  6. 6. <ul><li>The ascent of Mount Roraima begins </li></ul><ul><li>Group members will climb up the lower slopes of Mount Roraima </li></ul><ul><li>The most strenuous day of the trek, but it is through some of the most beautiful scenery on the planet </li></ul>
  7. 7. <ul><li>Early start as the group climb the dramatic ledge up the gigantic cliffsides of Mount Roraima </li></ul><ul><li>By early afternoon the group will explore the spectacular scenery and bizarre wildlife of Arthur Conan Doyle’s ‘lost world’. </li></ul>
  8. 8. <ul><li>Group members trek north to explore Mount Roraima’s spectacular labyrinths of towering stone pinnacles and a valley lined with shimmering quartz crystals </li></ul>
  9. 9. <ul><li>The group will explore Mount Roraima’s underground ancient cave system – the largest quartz caves in the world </li></ul><ul><li>In the afternoon the group will be guided across the summit and view the sunset </li></ul>
  10. 10. <ul><li>After four days on the plateaus summit the group begins its descent. </li></ul><ul><li>Camp near the Kukenan River at the Rio Kukenan Camp </li></ul><ul><li>Final night near the towering cliffside of Mount Roraima </li></ul>
  11. 11. <ul><li>The expedition members trek from Rio Kukenan camp back to the Amerindian village of Paratepui </li></ul><ul><li>The group is picked up by 4x4 vehicles and travel to Santa Elena for a well earned drink and shower </li></ul>
  12. 12. <ul><li>The group is chauffeured from Santa Elena to Cuidad Bolivar </li></ul><ul><li>The final night in Venezuela is spent in the historic city centre of Cuidad Bolivar </li></ul>
  13. 13. <ul><li>An early start sees the group leave Cuidad Bolivar for Caracas, arriving in time for afternoon and evening flights back to the UK. </li></ul><ul><li>Your adventure of a lifetime has come to an end... </li></ul>
