A first step towards global
human relations and consolidation
With the implementation of CUBES’ HR system, Clipper are in control of
all master data. It has afforded a focus on analysis, rather than data
processing, on accurate reporting, visualisation of the organisational
structure, and an overview of the organisation, both locally and globally.
Costly, poorly interfaced, and far too many resources poured into collection and
processing of data. That was some of the challenges faced by Clipper when they in
2012 were to update their previous HR system. The solution, however, was a simple
one. CUBES Software met the demands of Clipper.
”We had an extremely expensive IT system before. Each time a new version was
available, we had to pay huge sums related to developing the system at first, and then
to adapt the design. When we heard about CUBES Software, we were taken by the
mindset of Software-as-a-Service. It was also much cheaper to maintain, because only
the user interface needed changes,” says Lars Holm, HR Business Manager at Clipper.
He points out that the migration from the previous HR system to CUBES Software not
only went smoothly, but made it possible to implement an array of improvements.
CUBES Software has made it possible for Clipper to make do with fewer systems,
which again has minimised the risk of errors. Now, Clipper updates all the information
from a single place.
”We are now able to concentrate more on data analysis, rather than spending
resources processing them. At the same time, we are confident that we have all the
data, and that the reporting is accurate, since the system automatically send an email
alert, should any data be missing. It would have been impossible to know with the old
system,” says Lars Holm.

With the implementation of CUBES’ absence module, Clipper has also gained greater
insight into which employees are absent. The system is updated daily, with information on
who is on holiday, who is on parental leave, or are traveling. The system has been very
well received by both leaders and employees; The previous system was mostly used just
once a year to update their employee evaluation, but now the barrier of an unintuitive
user interface is gone.
“The leaders and employees certainly have a positive experience since the system is
very easy to use, and they are now able to retrieve a variety of information,” says Lars Holm.
For example, it is always possible to view how many holidays are left, or to find house
data on colleagues or leaders in other departments or countries. To the leaders, among
other things, this mean they no longer have to go through the HR department to find out
how much their employees earn, employment dates, or the trending of wages the
preceding year. CUBES Software makes it possible to visualise the labour costs of an
individual department to the leader of it. This is all available with a few clicks.
Visualisation of the organisation
Clipper gives CUBES particularly high praise for making the organisational structure
visual. It is now possible to view the overall objectives of Clipper, the various goals of
the individual business areas, as well as the goals of the individual employee, all in a
single organisational structure.
"It is an incredibly powerful tool. Like magic, the individual employee now understands
his or her role in the company, and what is needed for the company to meet its overall
goals,” says Lars Holm.
CUBES Software is the first step towards global human relations and consolidation of the

as a whole, and the direct hierarchy of Clipper has become more visible.
”Without a doubt, CUBES Software has afforded us a completely different global
overview of Clipper. It has provided a better understanding of who solves which tasks
for whom across the borders. It has strengthened the organisation, in that the local
managers know which part they play, and the leaders in Copenhagen have much
better oversight of which resources they can draw on globally,” says Lars Holm. He
adds that Clipper are considering also integrating the HR system with a new
