  3. 3. Component A: Institutional Strengthening •Supplementary trainings:-67 In house trainings- 1251 participants, 61 training courses of Central agencies-206 participants. •Upgrading hardware, software and network capacities :- 37 •Computers & peripherals, 4 work stations, ARC GIS software, 1- 3 KVA UPS, , server rack for database server, Back up unit DAT 36/72 GB for database server •Web site for HIS data & RTDSS developed :- www.mahahp.org and http://210.212.172.117/RTSFROS & http://210.212.172.117/Krishna/Source/Krishna.htm •58 Officers attended 4 national study tours •13 officers attended international trainings. •Organizational Development- 9 trainings attended by 17 participants. • WQ Lab Level II building with Equipments @ Kalwa Thane 4- Cars & 9 Jeeps procured. •HIS network created under HP -I- Total - 716 Nos. SRG:- 277 Nos., ARG:-162 Nos., FCS :- 67Nos., GD : 210 Nos. •Real time Network developed under HP II - Total - 248 Nos. •Real Time Data Center is established in Pune.
  4. 4. Component B: Vertical Extension DSS-Planning (Upper Bhima Basin Up to Ujjani) : Applications developed ; •Surface Water Seasonal Planning •Surface Water long-term planning •Flood Analysis •Conjunctive use of surface & ground water. •Integrated reservoir operation DSS-Real Time for Krishna & Bhima Basins in Maharashtra : •The Real Time network established •Data is being received via VSAT/ GSM communication to servers at Pune •The Real Time Data can be viewed on project website:- http://210.212.172.117/RTSFROS by clicking on Krishna Bhima Online. •The Real Time Stream Flow Forecasting and Reservoir Operation System for Krishna and Bhima Basins is developed. •Flow Forecasting and Reservoir Operation System Model is tested on real time data. •The real-time stream flow forecasting was shared with Reservoirs managers in monsoon 2013 •The Real Time Stream flow forecast for internal viewing of designated authorities is made available on website http://210.212.172.117/Krishna/Source/Krishna.htm
  5. 5.  PDS : 1- Optimisation of G & D station network in Maharashtra Network found to be sufficient. Some RG /GD stations found obsolete in data collection network.  PDS : 2- Effect of changing water allocation in Jayakwadi Project (Nathsagar) Paithan Dist. Aurangabad. • Actual yield received in Jayakwadi reservoir from 1975 to 2010 at 75% dependability is less than the estimated in DPR. Additional water diverted for non irrigation use than planned in DPR. • Average annual income is increased. Yield received is less than average in consecutive 2 to 4 years & is prone to the getting in scarcity situation. • The integration of the reservoirs in the upper reaches of the basin with Paithan reservoirs is invited for sustainable development in the basin.
  6. 6. DSS (P) of Upper Bhima basin
  7. 7. PDS : 1- Optimisation of G & D station network in Maharashtra Location of GD stations in Upper Bhima Basin up to Ujani
  8. 8. Purpose Driven Study II - Effect of changing water allocation in Jayakwadi Project (Nathsagar) Paithan Dist. Aurangabad- completed

  18. 18. Lessons learnt : •Linkages between central agencies & states needs further more strengthening. •Continuous support of Consultants is needed in fulfilling the HIN. •DSS (P) for upper Bhima basin & RTSF for Krishna basin found to be helpful in managing floods & operating reservoirs. •Data Collection activity needs to be funded by Central Govt. in view of new data dissemination of policy. •Issues of Keys /Licenses / acquisition of Rainfall forecast data, needs to be attended in full for success of project. •International trainings are helpful in capacity building.
  19. 19. . Dissemination data and Application of HIS : •No. of DRF processed -669 •Total data stored & available for online shopping is 16 GB. •In house utilizations of data for preparation of State Water plan and arriving at water Available at specific project site for more than 1000 projects. •The Real Time Data can be viewed on project website:- http://210.212.172.117/RTSFROS by clicking on Krishna Bhima Online. •The Real Time Stream flow forecast for internal viewing of designated authorities is made available on website http://210.212.172.117/Krishna/Source/Krishna.htm
