  1. 1. Which one is the original? “Addio del passato” From La Traviata Or?
  2. 2. Adio Qerida a Judeo Espaniol song
  3. 3. Judeo Espaniol (Ladino, ebreo) is a Jewish Spanish language which until recently, was widely spoken throughout the Balkans, Turkey, the Middle East, and North Africa, having been brought there by Jewish refugees fleeing the area today known as Spain. It is based on old Spanish. Literature and music have been written before the 1492 Edict of Expulsion, in which King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella of Spain decreed all Jews had to either convert to Christianity or leave the kingdom. Because of persecution, many Jews who were forced to convert left. Now, the Ladino song is not dated? It is possible to suggest that the Jewish composer copied Verdi, but to assume automatically that a Ladino song cannot be older than one hundred and sixty years old and that Verdi adapted it can’t be ruled out.
