1. Charles is a great candidate who not only built his own company to 33M in revenues over 10
years and helped raise funds for the DCCC - Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee -
when he was 27 years old but he’s extremely well connected.
After college he worked for Kimberly Scott raising money for non-profits which led him to join the
DCCC as the Deputy Director of National Fundraising where he networked with and managed
relationships with high net worth individuals and corporations to secure record contributions for
the 1994 election year.
He then ran for State Representative and received an endorsement from the Boston Herald – at
age 28!
Charles then started Mount Vernon Strategies consulting firm, developed a database of over
100,000 contacts used in consulting services sales, and he sold market research, due diligence
and strategy practices to venture capital, consumer, technology, education and private equity
firms – generating 33M in revenues.
After 11 years he sold the firm to Technomic and stayed on as a VP for 1 year.
He joined the Hale Group strategy consulting firm and built the education practice selling to Nova
South Eastern University, DeVry, JP Morgan, Babson College, Brandeis Univ, Tufts Univ,
Goldman Sachs, Boston Univ, Brach’s, Partner’s Health Care, etc.
He’s currently a Partner at The Lucas Group, a corporate strategy and market research firm
founded by ex-Bain consulting partners where he’s working with private equity firms and higher
education sectors.
Charles is involved with many organizations including CJP (Combined Jewish Philanthropies),
West End House Boys and Girls Club (Board of Directors), ICA Museum of Contemporary Art,
Concord Academy Alumni (Fundraising Chair for 25th reunion this year). He has also raised
money for a number of non-profits.
