Editor's Notes
MobileIron was founded in 2007 and has over 200 customers [Feb 2011.] This slide summarizes many of the trends that we have spoken about - with the users driving the importance of apps and data, and they are doing it on multiple OSs, mobile device management is now a C-level issue. And repurposing legacy solutions just will not cut it. Only a product that was built from the ground up to address this brave new world can really provide a quality solution.Questions to ask the customer:What other solutions are you exploring? What is your purchase timeframe? What is your budget?
So let’s talk a little bit about the product.[click]The MobileIron solution is comprised of an agent on the actual mobile device, here on the left, and back-end server called VSP, or Virutal Smartphone Platform. So essentially the agent reports back to the back-end, and is the source of truth. We allow IT and the end user their own unique view of the data. The back-end, or VSP, is available as virtual software you install in your datacenter environment, or as an actual appliance. [click][click]By using a light weight agent with low power and memory usage, we can get real time data. There is a client for each OS that is supported, and that agent talks to our VSP, giving the IT department the tools and confidence that the device is enterprise ready.
