CONTROL DEL SISTEMA DE CONDUCCIÓN POR GRAVEDAD
1. Introducción.-
El siguiente informe presenta un sistema conformado por una línea de conducción de agua para
el proyecto de irrigación PASTO GRANDE ETAPA I, LOMAS DE ILO, ubicado en el
Departamento de Moquegua, donde se desarrolló a solicitud de la Empresa ASESORES
TÉCNICOS ASOCIADOS S.A. un modelamiento hidraúlico del sistema para las diferentes
condiciones de operación, en donde se mostrará los Transientes o condiciones de flujo no
permanente que deben evitarse. El flujo transitorio es generado por cambios de la velocidad en
la tubería, derivados de maniobras rápidas como el cierre rápido de una válvula. Éstos cambios
bruscos en la velocidad se acompañan de cambios bruscos en la presión que se propagan por
la tubería, generando ondas de presión de periodo muy corto (apenas algunos segundos). El
cálculo de los valores máximos y mínimos dentro de otros parámetros del modelo, permiten
simular los efectos del Transiente, encontrando la mejor alternativa económica y segura.
2. Objetivo.-
El siguiente informe tiene por objetivo realizar el análisis hidráulico de la Línea de conducción
dividida en tres tramos. En este estudio su sugieren los elementos y/o condiciones necesarios
para garantizar el correcto funcionamiento hidráulico del sistema en régimen permanente y
proteger al mismo ante la eventual presencia de transitorios.

4. Metodología de cálculo del sistema de venteo.-
Para el dimensionamiento de las ventosas se ha empleado el software “ARIavCAD 4.0”.
ANÁLISIS POSIBLES
Existen tres niveles de análisis, con la posibilidad de elegir dos o tres tipos de análisis para
realizar un estudio combinado.

i. Análisis de Reventón:
El análisis del reventón presume que se producirá un reventón de todo el diámetro de la tubería,
en el que se verterá libremente el fluido en el lugar del citado percance. A fin de evitar que se
produzcan condiciones de vacío, mayores que la presión de vacío predeterminada, debe
admitirse aire a través de la válvula de agua situada sobre el punto de reventón, en un volumen
equivalente a la proporción de drenado que fluye a través de esa ruptura en la tubería.
Por consiguiente, la capacidad de toma de cada tubería se calcula usando la ecuación Hazen-
Williams:
Debe tenerse en cuenta que este análisis examina el tramo de la tubería en donde ha ocurrido
el reventón, considerando tan sólo el diámetro de la tubería (D), la rugosidad teórica de la misma,
tal como se expresa en su constante Hazen Williams (C), y el declive de esa sección de la tubería
(S).
El Plan ARIavCAD analiza cada tramo de la tubería (entre los puntos de cambio de gradiente),
al presumir que se habría producido un reventón transversal completo a lo largo de ese tramo.
En los análisis de reventón no se toman en consideración los cambios de elevación (Δh), como
tales, incluso cuando hay pequeños cambios de gradiente, si el declive es pronunciado será
necesario que exista una gran capacidad de toma de aire para poder realizar ese análisis.
Si bien el Burst Analysis verifica cada tramo entre las variaciones de declive, de ningún modo
ubica válvulas de aire en cada punto en que la tubería inicia un tramo descendiente o ascendente,
como es el caso de otros programas.
En lugar de ello, evalúa las velocidades del flujo que podrían reventar, en donde los dos tramos
se juntan, en el punto del cambio de declive, y calcula las diferencias entre la velocidad de sus
cargas (Δhv = V2

/2g). Si este valor (Δhv) es inferior a 1.5m, no se coloca válvula de aire
alguna en el punto donde se modifica el gradiente.

Si equivale o es mayor de 1.5m, sí se habrá de colocar una válvula de aire, ya que la toma de
aire a un índice que corresponde a ΔV, la diferencia en velocidad resulta ser (Q = ΔV x A, donde
A = el área transversal de la tubería).

ii. Análisis de Drenado:
El análisis de drenado se basa en la Orifice Formula (Fórmula del Orificio):
Como se puede ver en esta fórmula, el Drainage Analysis (Análisis de Drenado) solamente
considera el diámetro (D) de la válvula de drenado, el coeficiente de descarga que está regulado
a 0,6, y las diferencias de altura (Δh) entre los picos y las válvulas de drenado.
Este análisis no toma en cuenta los declives de los tramos de la tubería ni tampoco las pérdidas
de carga a lo largo de la misma. Presume que la tubería funciona como una vasija con un orificio

en su fondo, que tendría el tamaño del diámetro de una válvula de drenado.
Pero, en contraste con el Burst Analysis, el Drainage Analysis revisa toda la tubería enfocando
cada válvula de drenado y analiza los efectos de cada uno de sus tramos con respecto al otro, y
la influencia ejercida por las diferentes válvulas de aire, una frente a la otra.
Generalmente, éste resulta ser un análisis más completo y global que el del Reventón, pero como
no toma en cuenta las pérdidas de carga, ello limita en cierto modo la exactitud de los resultados,
lo que hace que esta tarea sea de un carácter más conservador.
iii. Análisis de Régimen de Llenado:
Este es el único análisis basado en la capacidad de purga de aire, y presume que el volumen de
descarga de aire equivale al régimen del flujo de llenado de la tubería, basado sobre la velocidad
de llenado seleccionada.
Análisis de Combinación:
El análisis más conservador es el llamado “de combinación”, que comprende todos los tres
análisis necesarios para poder ubicar, en cada punto, la válvula de aire que ha de cubrir todas
las capacidades analizadas del flujo de aire. Pero también es posible limitarse a un análisis
combinado que use tan sólo dos de esos análisis.
Ya que el Fill Rate Analysis (Análisis de Llenado) es el único análisis que contempla la descarga
de aire, sería prudente incluirlo en cualquier combinación analizadora que se realice.
Resultados previstos de los análisis:
Si la tubería es muy larga, y pronunciada la diferencia de elevación (Δh) entre el pico
mayor y el punto inferior de drenado, el Drainage Analysis (Análisis de Drenado)
generalmente ha de ser muy conservador, y se basará en las válvulas de aire de mayor
tamaño.
Si las diferencias de elevación (Δh) a lo largo de la tubería son relativamente reducidas,
pero los declives de tramos de tubería resultan ser relativamente altos, el Burst Analysis
(Análisis de Reventón) generalmente habrá de ser muy conservador, indicando las

válvulas de aire de mayor tamaño.
Si la tubería es relativamente lisa, con declives poco pronunciados, el Fill Rate Analysis
puede ser muy conservador, eligiendo las mayores ventosas.
Análisis Virtuales:
En las tuberías de amplios diámetros, enterradas y bien cubiertas, al considerarse que es remota
la posibilidad de que ocurra un reventón en un tubo de gran diámetro por el que fluye libremente
el líquido, realizar el Burst Analysis (Análisis de Reventón) puede ser un tanto inverosímil. En
estos casos, el análisis en cuestión puede referirse frecuentemente a válvulas de aire tan
extremadamente grandes que no existen en la práctica.
En estos casos es posible, e incluso recomendable, llevar a cabo “Drainage Analyses” virtuales.
Ello se realiza introduciendo válvulas de drenado virtuales del mismo diámetro predeterminado
en todos los puntos bajos de la tubería, eligiendo válvulas de drenado de un diámetro equivalente
al tamaño del agujero para el que se desea brindar protección de vacío. Es posible y
recomendable probar diversas alternativas de análisis, eligiendo en última instancia la solución
que parezca ser más indicada.
5. Metodología de cálculo del sistema de control.-
Para modelar el sistema de control se ha empleado el software “KYPIPE 2012”, para conocer la
operación de cada una de las válvulas de control el software “BERMAD SIZING”.
Despues del análisis hidraulico, se vio necesario la instalación de placas orificio aguas abajo de
las válvulas sostenedoras del tramo 01 y el tramo 03, para asegurar una presión diferencial
menor en la válvula, y de esta manera asegurar el correcto funcionamiento de la misma.
Para dimensionar las placas orificio del tramo 01 (PL01A y PL01B) y del tramo 03 (PL03A y
PL03B), se utilizó el software BERSOFT, donde además se presenta la operación de la placa en
las diferentes condiciones de caudal a la que será sometida.
Finalmente se muestra la selección de ventosas ARI, mediante el software ARIavCAD 4.0 en los
puntos proporcionados por el cliente en el adjunto “SUMINISTRO DE ACCESORIOS DE
VALVULAS VENTOSAS Y VALVULAS DE PURGA FINAL.xls”.

14. Resumen de válvulas para el sistema.-
En el Anexo N° 1 se encuentra el sizing de las válvulas sostenedoras de presión, y en el Anexo
N° 2 se encuentra los cálculos de las placas orificio para las distintas condiciones de flujo (200,
400, 600, 900 lps) mediante el software “BERSOFT”, necesarias en el sistema para asegurar una
presion a la descarga de cada cámara inferior a 15 m.c.a. Considerándose el modelamiento en
el software KYPIPE y análisis en el BERMAD SIZING, las válvulas sostenedoras a suministrar

El sistema hidraulico presenta válvulas de purga según el adjunto “SUMINISTRO DE
