Arts AwardINTRODUCTION•A nationally recognised qualification•Levels 1, 2 & 3 on the Qualifications Framework•Can be undertaken using all art forms•Flexible in time, ability, numbers, art forms•Young people put together a portfolio, evidencingtheir Arts Award journeys•Portfolios can be presented in a variety of ways

Arts AwardCURRENT POSITION OF ARTS AWARD•Arts Award is working across a range of settings,including schools, arts organisations, youngpeople’s agencies, children’s homes, PRUs, etc.•Across England, over 60,000 young people haveachieved an Arts Award•As from 1 April, ALEM will be working with TMC todeliver demanding Arts Award targets•April will also launch two new Arts Awards

Arts AwardHOW ARTS AWARD WORKS•Builds on criteria of Communication, Creativity, Art FormKnowledge & Understanding, Planning & Review•Young people must do their Arts Award through aregistered Arts Award Centre•To become an Arts Award Centre (organisation orindividual), you must be a trained Arts Award Advisor•Training is offered each month (Bronze & Silver) in EM•Arts Award Advisors then deliver Arts Award•Young people’s work is then externally moderated
  5. 5. Arts AwardARTS AWARD IN THE EAST MIDLANDS• Five Bronze/Silver trainers• Two Gold trainers• One 7+ trainer• All ALEM members support Arts Award in their local area• Regional development and strategies;- Regional intelligence, in-house training, Buddying Scheme, case studies, pilots
