1. 1. Severe Weather By Hope Rennells
 2. 2. Floods

Floods are caused by many things.

These include hurricanes, tsunamis, and uneven rainfall.

Floods cause a lot of damage such as: power outages, closed roads, and damaged belongings.

If the flood is bad enough, it can even take lives.

Depending on the flood, the amount of water varies.

 3. 3. Tsunami

Tsunamis are usually caused by earthquakes.

This is because the Earth’s plates move and causes big waves to occur.

These waves crash on shore and spread way out on shore.

The affect of a tsunami is a huge flood.

This causes a lot of damage and many lives.

 4. 4. Hurricanes

Depending on where the winds form a hurricane determines which way it will rotate.

If the winds form south of the equator, it spins counterclockwise.

If the winds form north of the equator, then the hurricane will spin clockwise.

Hurricanes are formed from cumulonimbus clouds and wind.

These clouds are formed from warm water that is found at or near the equator.

 5. 5. Hurricanes

Hurricanes are rated from 1 to 5, % being the fiercest and 1 being the weakest.

This rating is based on wind speed.

Also hurricanes are named so that we can keep track of them.

Not all hurricanes reach shore.

Hurricanes bring strong winds and swirling waters that can create damange and work, and take lives.

 6. 6. Hurricanes

Hurricanes come in seasons (June 1 to November 30).

This is because the water has to be the perfect temperature and is only in the right condition at this time.

 7. 7. Tornadoes

Tornadoes are often formed from thunderstorms.

However, the thunderstorm must be in a warm area with a clod-front coming.

For this reason, tornadoes have certain areas that they usually strike.

Tornadoes are very dangerous, but are not as destructive as hurricanes.

 8. 8. Droughts

Droughts are caused mainly by uneven rainfall.

However, wasting water can also contribute to droughts.

This is why the government makes water restrictions.

However, droughts may vary in time and condition.
