Salary: Up to £24 - £34k basic, negotiable based on experience
The Company
Our client are an international company specializing in the design, manufacture and
installation of complex multi-axis machines and automated tooling for the Aircraft Industry,
they are one of the largest systems integrators of aircraft assembly solutions in the world
and they have a significant customer base with major airframe constructors. These
partnerships provide them with projects throughout the world including USA, Australia,
Japan, Spain and the United Kingdom. From small R&D driven projects to jumbo jet final
assembly jigs, they have the capabilities to provide new and creative manufacturing
solutions for the rapidly changing aircraft industry. Operations are still driven by the
companies` founder and as an engineer led organisation, our graduates are given the
opportunity to work on some very big and exciting projects
The Role
Due to continued growth and a number of exciting projects recently won, we are now
looking for two mechanical engineers with design experience. As a member of their
engineering team, you will take responsibility for all tasks associated with projects from the
initial concept stage, through to manufacture, commissioning and finally support.
Primary Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Using 3D modelling software for the design of tools and machines
- Building prototypes and iterating your designs
- Justifying designs through testing and computational analysis
- Producing high quality detailed drawings for manufacture and handover to clients
- Coordinating the manufacture of your designs
- Inspecting and assembling parts
- Troubleshooting / Fault-finding
The Candidate
Candidates must have a 2:1 or 1st class Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering Degree and
applications are welcome from both recent graduates and experienced engineers. Together
with this, you will need to be highly motivated and talented with good English
communication skills, both written and verbal. Strong analytical skills and engineering
intuition are also essential.
With a strong history of engineers that build what they create; we especially value aptitude
for design and confidence to take on hands on activities. Our ideal candidate will enjoy
inventing (and be good at it).
