  3. 3. Materials<br />iTunes, which can be downloaded free<br />An iPod, with USB cord<br />CD’s that you want to sync to your iPod<br />
  4. 4. Step 1: Get iTunes<br />Download iTunes for free from this site: http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/<br />Note: You'll need a computer with at least 256 MB of RAM and a 500 MHz processor .<br />Click on the large blue “Download Now” button to start downloading.<br />

Click:<br />Install<br />Next<br />Accept<br />Wait for iTunes to install completely, iTunes will tell you when it has been installed successfully.<br />
  7. 7. Step 2: Import Music to iTunes<br />Now that you have iTunes you can start to build your music library. <br />Double click the iTunes icon on your desktop. It will look something like this: <br />The iTunes main page will open revealing your library, a link to the iTunes store, and other options. <br />
  8. 8. Step 2: Import Music to iTunes<br />The first time you open iTunes, it will ask if you if would like to organize the music you have already loaded on your computer into your iTunes library. <br />Select “Yes” and your music can be loaded from your computer by following these steps:<br />
  9. 9. Step 2: Import Music to iTunes<br />Locate the folder containing the files you want added to your iTunes Library. <br />Open iTunes. <br /> Click on "File," then "Add Folder to Library." <br />
  10. 10. Step 2: Import Music to iTunes<br /> Find the folder in the browsing window that pops up, and click "OK." <br /> Wait for iTunes to finish importing the files. <br />Note: you can also add music files to iTunes by dragging and dropping them into iTunes.<br />

Step 2: Import Music to iTunes<br />The next step is to convert music from a hard copy, I.E. your CD collection to a digital format so it can be loaded on your iPod.<br />Choose a CD and insert it into the disk drive on your laptop/ computer.<br />It may take a few moments for the CD to be registered.<br />
  12. 12. Step 2: Import Music to iTunes<br />iTunes will ask you if you want to import the CD into your iTunes Library .<br />Select “Yes” to import the CD. <br />The prompt will look like this:<br />

Step 3: Sync Music to iPod<br />After the CD is fully imported, you can load it onto your iPod.<br />To do this, the iPod needs to be connected to the computer using the USB cord it came with.<br />Fit the wide, pronged end<br />of the cord into the bottom of<br />the iPod, then insert the USB<br />into the USB port on your computer.<br />
  14. 14. Step 3: Sync Music to iPod<br />Your computer will install your iPod automatically and may ask you to scan the device to make sure it is safe.<br />You can scan your iPod if desired, or simply select “Do Not Scan” to continue.<br />

Step 3: Sync Music to iPod<br />On the iTunes page, select your iPod from under the Devices section of the left hand sidebar.<br /> This will lead you to a new page displaying the following information:<br /> Your device information<br /> Options to restore your iPod <br />Options for syncing music<br />

Step 3: Sync Music to iPod<br />iTunes can automatically sync up all new music every time the iPod is connected to iTunes, but it may be easier to manage your syncing manually.<br />Check the “Manually manage music” box under your syncing options and drag and drop songs from the library to the iPod icon.<br />Finally, click on the “Sync” button on the iPod screen to load the selected music to your device.<br />
