Hawaiian Islands<br />December 2009<br /><ul><li> USDA- NRCS started using Satellite acquisition in 2005 with primary DigitalGlobe. Complete statewide acquisition was finished in 2009.
- Oahuis collected by DHS/NGA/USGS as part of the Urban 133 areas project.
All islands have DG .6 Meter Resolution, Four Band Orthoimagery data except Oahu (1 Ft., Natural Color).
Complete coverage was accomplished in 2009 with the deliveries of DOQQ’s for Hawaii Island at a cost of ~ $ 600,000 including Enterprise Premium upgrades.

DigitalGlobe WorldView-2 Summary<br />- Most islands will be delivered when complete approved coverage is available so DigitalGlobe can Radiometric balance the Imagery. Big Island will be in 2-3 pieces. Data delivered is Pan/8 Band MS, 16 Bit, Radiometric Balanced in GeoTIFF format, Metadata with Shapefiles etc..<br />- Hawaii Funding contribution were adequate for either DigitalGlobe Pan/8 Multi-Spectral Band (8 Band Bundle) or 4 Band Pan-Sharpen product but not for both products. We (USDA, USGS, SOH) decided to acquire the DG-WV2 8 Band Bundle.<br />- USDA has been working on Pan-Sharpening techniques. Recently we were able to Pan Sharpen all WV-2 Multi-Spectral Bands (8) for all Hawaiian islands using the following:<br /> - ERDAS 2011, 64 Bit mode on a MS-64 Bit Workstation with quad processing ores and 2 TB of temp hard disc space.<br />- DigitalGlobe does a slightly better Pan-Sharpening with their Software/Hardware by are limited to 4 Band Pan-Sharpening. <br />
Hawaiian Islands Orthoimagery Status<br />DigitalGlobe WorldView-2 Status<br />April 2011<br />Orthoimagery Delivered and Accepted<br />Oahu, Kauai, Niihau, Kahoolawe, Maui and the East End of Hawaii<br /><ul><li>USGS, State of Hawaii and USDA have contracted for complete coverage of all 8 major Hawaiian Islands with DigitalGlobe/WorldView-2 Satellite Orthoimagery.

Pacific Basin Status<br /><ul><li> USDA has collected approximately ~ 98% of all land mass within the jurisdiction of the United States: </li></ul> - Guam<br /> - Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands<br /> - Northwestern Hawaiian Islands<br /> - Palau<br /> - American Samoa<br /> - Federated States of Micronesia<br /> - Marshall Islands <br /> - US Trusts (Palmyra, Wake, etc..)<br /><ul><li> Most islands acquired also contain any visible shallow water reef areas.
All data is Satellite 1 Meter or higher resolution (DG-QB2, DG-WV2, GeoEye-1)

Funding would not allow complete Enterprise Premium Licenses in Pacific Basin.

<ul><li>Pacific Basin Excel file will be released with the Pacific Basin dataset listing all important information including Sensor, Image Acquisition Dates and License Level.
