  2. 2. INTRODUCTION <ul><li>Plan a special theme evening. </li></ul><ul><li>Suggest some entertainment activities to make the evening more wonderful for the guests. </li></ul><ul><li>Also plan a 3 course menu for the event. </li></ul><ul><li>Analyze the things that can go wrong. </li></ul>

  4. 5. <ul><li>I have plan a New Year party for 50 couple as a guests of our hotel. </li></ul><ul><li>The timing for the party will be from 8:00 pm to 2:00am. </li></ul><ul><li>The party will be arranged in the hotel banquet hall and the special theme will be “Clock Theme”. </li></ul><ul><li>The simple reason is that the clocks can serve to beautify the party as well as keep count of the hours to go for the New Year. </li></ul>
  5. 6. <ul><li>Decorate the banquet hall using clock, stars, balls and other lights that give the hall a truly clock feel. New Year Gold and Silver Metallic Stars are somewhat a must décor which enhances the party mood. </li></ul><ul><li>Walls will be decorated with pictures and colorful wallpapers. </li></ul><ul><li>The hall will be lighted with fancy candles with candle stand and lanterns. </li></ul><ul><li>All chairs will be also resembling that of colorful chair cloths and a long table will be placed in the centre of the hall and the guests will be seated around that table. </li></ul><ul><li>A big candle stand and a vase of red roses will be placed in the centre of the table </li></ul>
  6. 8. <ul><li>Invitations has been sent to the guest which shaped like clocks in round boxes bearing the name of the invitee and an image of a clock on top. </li></ul><ul><li>A competition is organized for the best-dressed-couple-as-a-clock award which will serve greatly to enliven the occasion. </li></ul><ul><li>Hang a giant clock(or in its absence, a medium-sized pendulum clock) from the roof-top at the centre of the party-zone. </li></ul><ul><li>Paper chains, streamers, ribbons and curling ribbons offers a dramatic twist to the New Year party décor and it is with the dotted presence of the balloons the true spirit of the party can be actually felt. </li></ul><ul><li>Nice centerpieces, flowers and new year bells further completes the new year party decoration. </li></ul>
  7. 11. <ul><li>AMBIENCE:- Dark blue velvet fabric and curtain will be placed at the entrance to create a dramatic entry point for the new year party. </li></ul><ul><li>Plenty of rich colors like ruby or dark wine in fabrics like velvet are used to decorate the hall. </li></ul><ul><li>Ceiling will be decorated using hanging lanterns and decorations which resemble that of new year. </li></ul><ul><li>The cake arranged for the dinner will be in the shape of a clock and it will be beautifully garnished. </li></ul><ul><li>The walls of the hall will be given golden and copper tints. Every arrangements will be made in such a way that it will suit the “CLOCK THEME” </li></ul>
  8. 13. <ul><li>A lavish New Year's Buffet with international cuisines will be served Unlimited beer and wine during the meal. </li></ul><ul><li>20.30 hrs - Dinner is served and entertainment begins like dance shows & Professional DJs will entertain them. </li></ul><ul><li>22.30 hrs – Best dressed couple competition. </li></ul><ul><li>23.30 hrs - Entertainment by ghazal singers. </li></ul><ul><li>00.00 hrs – crackers lighted outside the hall and the new year special celebrity guest Mr. Akshay kumar and Miss Katrina Kaif will arrive and give gifts to all the guests and wish them a happy new year. </li></ul><ul><li>02.00 hrs - Venue closes. </li></ul>

Analyze things that can go wrong while planning and during the celebration. <ul><li>Forgot to send invitation to one of the guests. </li></ul><ul><li>Solution: Call the guests personally and make sure everybody received the invitation card. </li></ul><ul><li>Shortage of food. </li></ul><ul><li>Solution: Always make extra food for at least two people. </li></ul><ul><li>Limited staff than that planned. </li></ul><ul><li>Solution: Should always have a back up plan if any staff is absent that day there should be substitutes for them. </li></ul>
  18. 28. <ul><li>Misplaced crockery's or cutleries </li></ul><ul><li>Solution: Make sure everything is in place before the party starts. </li></ul><ul><li>Spilling of beverages and food on the floor and breaking of glass. </li></ul><ul><li>Solution: make necessary arrangements to clean it fast and do replenishment if necessary. </li></ul><ul><li>Chance of fire from candle. </li></ul><ul><li>Solution: Keep fire extinguishers in reach. </li></ul><ul><li>Choking ,burns or other health problems . </li></ul><ul><li>Solution: Place a phone and first aid kit in the hall. </li></ul>
  19. 29. <ul><li>In the event of an unplanned visit of a celebrity guest to the restaurant how would you manage to ensure smooth operations and minimum discomfort to the other guests. </li></ul><ul><li>Give a warm welcome to the celebrity guest. </li></ul><ul><li>Introduce him to each one of the guests present in the hall separately so that crowding of guests around him will be prevented. </li></ul><ul><li>Arrange a special chair for him with the other guests and make necessary arrangements fast for his dinner. </li></ul><ul><li>Allow the guests to take photos with him or getting autographs with his permission. </li></ul><ul><li>Give equal treatment to the celebrity as well as other guests so that they wont feel bad Involve the celebrity also in the entertainment programs. </li></ul><ul><li>Make him cut and give the new year cake to the guest. </li></ul><ul><li>Avoid the guests disturbing him unnecessarily by passing comments and stupid questions. </li></ul><ul><li>Gift him a special new year gift on behalf of the hotel as well as other guests. </li></ul>
  20. 30. This assignment had help me a lot to understand new things like planning a theme, get to know the menus, and also how the hotel arranges the theme and how difficult to handle every task.
