Pass Your Basic Theory Driving Test in Singapore with full confidence

  1. 1. Pass Your Basic Theory Driving Test in Singapore with full confidence At the point of writing this (December 2014), I have just cleared my Final Theory Test recently and I am schedule to get my Class 3 license (Manual) next year (January 2015). This process is quite simple, and I spent lots of time researching to figure out: 1. What driving license should I take? 2. The most economically (not cheapest but value for money) way to get my Singapore driving license 3. Things to avoid by doing this 4. Changing of various private instructors (not all were good) until I settled for one great one. And oh boy, if you don't just want to throw money ( more costly) with the driving school, You should try the path I've taken. For this website, I look forward to sharing my experience with you and I hope your journey will be easier in comparison with what I went through. We make an effort to give you the best match for you in hunting for your private driving instructor and elearning support for your Basic Theory Test (BTT) and Final Theory Test (FTT). What to cover / learn in Basic Theory Test / Exam? We strongly recommend you purchase the Basic Theory of Driving - The Official Handbook from the school ( it comes as a package with the Final Theory Test handbook) when you book for your Basic Theory Test. Areas:
  2. 2. Introduction to driving (in Singapore), different classes of driving licenses Singapore Road Signs and Signals (you literally need to memorise each one of these) Singapore Traffic Rules and Regulations (again just pure memorisation) Code of Conduct on the road Parts and Control of A Car (Basic) And other nitty gritty details which we will not cover here. After you clear your Basic Theory Test (you'll get your results straight away with a print out), your Basic Theory Test “Pass Results” stays with you for a lifetime. This simply means, you are able to proceed to carry out the next 2 steps (together if you want) 1. Obtain a Provisional Driving License (PDL) - this enables you to learn practical lessons on the roads with a certified driving instructor. Without the PDL, you can't book for your driving lessons 2. Book your Final Theory Test date. You definitely need to clear your Basic Theory Test Date before booking for your Final Theory Test Date. We will assist you to clear your Basic Theory Test (BTT) with ease. Taking Your Driving Lessons in Singapore for your Traffic Police Driving License Test In general your driving lessons (from beginning to end) involve both theoretical and practical lessons. The sequence of your driving lessons are as (in order): 1. Basic Theory Lessons (theoretical) You are able to really study from home at your own comfort or you can attend the lessons covered by the various driving schools. In fact, the Basic Theory Test involves the basic concepts of driving and understanding the various road signs and traffic regulation. Pretty much rote learning (memorization) in my personal opinion. 2. Final Theory Lessons (theoretical)
  3. 3. Also known “Advance Theory Test”, you can too attend final theory driving lessons if you'd like to and like the Basic Theory Tests, we think it is sufficient to study at your own pace. 3. Practical Driving Lessons (practical) Unlike the theoretical nature above, you are required to either sign up for a driving school for your school driving lessons or engage a private driving instructor for your private driving lessons. ---------------------------_________________ Our instinct (specifically shopping instinct) tells us to get the cheapest option available in many instances. This is often a really contrarian thought. Naturally everyone out there wants the cheapest option. Bear this in mind, price is whatever you pay, value is exactly what you receive. If you do a price comparison without factoring the value you get, the comparision is completely meaningless. In order to compare apple to apple, we should instead take into account customer services costs as this comes as a cost to the company providing it. To put it simply, if you want insurance for your purchase in the form of customer care for your services - it will cost a bit more. Economic theory has it that competition in the market results in more options and better prices for consumers. While this is true on a macro level, being the consumer, having too many choices can be a headache.
