2009 FDA/Industry Statistics Workshop

  1. 1. A View of Missing Data Analysis from Medical Device Industry Perspective Hsini (Terry) Liao, Ph.D. Boston Scientific Corporation Incomplete data are unavoidable for almost all researches including medical device studies. To handle incomplete missing data, many statistical methodologies have been developed over past few decades. A recent tipping point approach in terms of ‘modeling- free’ or ‘mechanism-free’ in missingness has drawn many attentions in both FDA and medical device industry. Applications of such technique to both continuous and binary data as well as an overview from industry perspective will be presented. Keyword: tipping point, missing data imputation
