  2. 2. WHAT IS CHOLESTEROL?• Cholesterol is the Fatty substance found in certain foods as well as manufactured by body.• Important factor in formation of PLAQUE in the blood vessels.• Normal value – 200 mg/dl
  3. 3. LIPID PROFILE• Total Cholesterol• LDL (Bad Cholesterol)• HDL ( Good Cholesterol)• Tryglycerides

  6. 6. TRYGLYCERIDES• Free molecules in blood carrying Fats• Flow after meals in blood• Risky for women• Levels increase with diet high in calories ,sugar , alcohol, refined starches• Normal value – below 150mg/dl• Not good for heart
