  1. 2. Background <ul><li>The Hewitt Best Employers in India 2009 study examines people management practices in many of India’s leading organizations. It provides insights into how organizations can achieve a real competitive advantage through their people, explores what makes an organization a good place to work, and identifies a shortlist of Hewitt Best Employers in India . </li></ul>

Hewitt </li></ul><ul><li>received employee opinions from over 46,000 employees representing </li></ul><ul><li>a workforce of over 8 lakh employees. </li></ul>About the Study

  6. 7. “ Employee First, Customer Second” Philosophy <ul><li>In February 2005, Vineet Nayar, CEO, HCL Technologies announced a radical new philosophy, “Employee First, Customer Second” (EFCS). </li></ul><ul><li>Through this philosophy the aim was to create a unique employee organization, drive an inverted organizational structure, create transparency and accountability within the organization, and encourage a value driven culture. </li></ul>
