  2. 2. Identifying the conventions • Wikipedia is a online encyclopaedia that provides people with information that they need. People of all ages, cultures and backgrounds can add or edit article prose, references, images and other media here. • It has lots of information for people that want to learn about things • The online encyclopedia uses pictures in every single page to give people an image of what it is. • In every page there is a title and sub heading to tell people what the page is going to talk about.
  3. 3. Identifying the conventions • There’s a Contents box listing headings it jumps to relevant sections. Wiki has Side bar with settings, preferences, content and suggestions for the whole website. It also has There’s hyperlinks that lead to other pages. • There’s reference and intuitional information, this show were all the information has come from. This suggests that all the information is a very reliable source.
  4. 4. • There’s a talk page on wiki were everyone talks about all the information and all the improvements made to the information.
  5. 5. • Form: online encyclopaedia • Structure: written articles with paragraphs • Content: information about different topics, pictures • Technical conventions: see wiki slide • Mode of address: formal, serious, informative, tries to be objective.
