Harry's presentation

  1. 1. OUR TARGET AUDIENCE• The target audience for our film was young people aged between 16-24 because in the film industry this is the biggest audience demographic. Our film is likely to be rated a 15 by the BBFC (http://www.bbfc.co.uk/) as it features violence and bad language.• We would also target this age group because they are more likely to be interested in this genre being an action/thriller film. This is because there it is exciting and full of suspense.
  2. 2. OUR TARGET AUDIENCE• The main antagonist is a young male so this would appeal to the young males and the main protagonist is a young female which would appeal to young females, so therefore we are appealing to both demographics.• The film has many controversial issues such as rape and violence so therefore our film would appeal to these two demographics because they will want to see how these issues have been raised/tackled in the film.
  3. 3. OUR TARGET AUDIENCE• We would also target this age group because they could promote our film by telling their friends and using social networking sites to do this. Therefore this was a viral marketing strategy we could use.• The music our audience would listen to would probably be fast paced beats such as Dubstep and music that fits in the genre of pop and R&B. So we tried to incorporate this style of music into our film.
  4. 4. OUR TARGET AUDIENCE• The Tv programmes that they are likely to watch would be of social realism such as Skins and Top Boy so when planning our opening we wanted to apply this to our film.• The films our audience is more likely to watch would be similar to the Tv programmes. The films this demographic is most likely to watch will usually have a protagonist and an antagonist. Skins Antagonist Protagonis t
  5. 5. HOW DID YOU ATTRACT/ADDRESS YOURAUDIENCE?• We attracted our audience by having an edgy story line of a young male rapist/murderer and a young female who witnesses the crime he commits. This would keep our audience interested because they wanted to see the opening we had created.• We also attracted our audience because me and my group were in the film so therefore our friends wanted to see it.
  6. 6. HOW DID YOU ATTRACT/ADDRESS YOURAUDIENCE?• The genre of our film was to attract the audience as it is an action/thriller film with social realism.• Therefore they would be able to relate to these topics as they would have probably been exposed to them by other media companies such as the BBC or newspapers.
  7. 7. HOW DID YOU ATTRACT/ADDRESS YOURAUDIENCE?• For the soundtrack we tried to address our audience by asking them what music they liked so this way they would feel interacted with the making of our film. We then created a soundtrack which would go with our opening.• The title of our film ‘The Witness’ attracted our audience because it sounds edgy and doesn’t give much away so therefore our audience would want to watch the opening to find out what our film is all about.
  8. 8. HOW DID YOU ATTRACT/ADDRESS YOURAUDIENCE?• We also tried to make sure that our film would be approved as a 15 by the BBFC so we tried to make sure that the criteria was met for this certificate. This would then appeal to our audience as they would be able to see it.• The main antagonist of our film was a young male and the main protagonist of our film was a young female so this way we appealed to both young males and young females.
