‘Festival' (mahotsav)
 It is a HindiWord which means ‘Tree Festival’.This tree planting
festival is observed annually, over a period of week starting form
1st July to 7th July.
 It’s is celebrated to raise awareness among the masses about the
importance of trees, their plantation conservation.
 It was initiated in 1950 by K. M. Munshi, the then Union Minister
for Agriculture and Food to create an enthusiasm in the mind of the
populace for the conservation of forests and planting of trees.
