Webquest Power Point

 1. 1. Leonardo Da Vinci Webquest
 2. 2. Biographical information

Leonardo was born on April 15, 1452. He was born in Vinci, Italy which was just outside Florence. Leonardo started learning from scholarly texts that were owned by his family and friends. He got started working as an apprentice of the workshop of Andrea del Verrochio. He started showing his enormous talent there and continued to do great work throughout his life.

 3. 3. Inventions before their time

Leonardo made sketches of inventions that were not made until hundreds of years after he died. Some of these inventions include a modern parachute, a modern navy helicopter, a modern army tank, scuba gear and the first plane with landing gear. His genious would inspire others for years to come .

 4. 4. Tricks of the trade

Leonardo came up with many techniques that made his paintings more realistic because during the renaissance people were studying nature closely and wanted more realism in their artwork. He used the linear perspective to make his paintings very realistic. This meant that he had a mathematical way of creating space and depth on the flat surface that was the canvas.

 5. 5. Unusual but stylish

One thing that was not known about da vinci was why he wrote from right to left when he was writing for himself and left to right when writing for other people. This is very puzzling but cool if you ask me.

 6. 6. Common themes in his artwork

There are two common themes I noticed that all the paintings I saw of his had in them. There were a lot of drawings of woman holding something and people in general. The other ones were drawings of stuff that he was studying or inventions he was thinking of.

 7. 7. The horse

The horse statue that was made by sculptor nina akamu and cast in bronze by talix art foundry represents the genius of Leonardo during the Italian renaissance.

 8. 8. His contribution to the world

Leonardo was obviously a genious. He was the first one to think about a lot of inventions that we could not live without today. He was a great artist and inspired people for generations with his work and still does today. People can learn a lot from his work and also from his artwork.
