  3. 3. BRIEF HISTORY ABOUT CUFF.<br />A cuff is an extra layer of fabric at the lower edge of the sleeve of a garment covering the arms. Cuffs may be made by turning back the material, or a separate band of material may be sewn on or worn separately attached by buttons or studs. A cuff may show an ornamental border, or have an addition of lace or other trimming. Except on casual attire, shirt cuffs are generally divided down one edge and then fastened together, so they can let a hand through and then fit more snugly around the wrist.<br />

BASIC CUFF BLOCK.<br />PLACE THE SHEET HORIZONTALLY AND MEASURE THE ACTUAL LENGTH AND WIDTH OF THE SHEET.<br />CENTRALIZE THE SHEET BY 20 cm x 12cm AS THE STANDARD SIZE OF CUFF IS 20 cm.<br />NOW MARK THE FOUR POINTS.<br />RUB EXTRA LINES AS DOTED.<br />DIVIDE THE BLOCK INTO HALF WITH THE DISTANCE OF 6cm AND DRAW A LINE MAKING IT AGAIN LINE.<br />TAKE 1cm ABOVE THE NEW LINE BY DOTTED LINE, THIS LINE IS FOR FUSING PURPOSE AS CUFF OUGHT TO BE STIFF.<br />FROM GRAIN LINE TAKE 3cm ABOVE AND MARK A NOTCH IN ORDER TO PLACE THE BUTTON.<br />

CONTENTS.<br />SUPPOSE THE RADIUS OF THE BUTTON IS 1cm.<br />THE FORMULA OF EASE OF THE BUTTON PLACEMENTS THE RADIUS OF THE BUTTON + 0.75= EDGE OF FOUR PLACKET.<br />MEASURE 1.75cm ON THE OUTWARD SIDE HOLDING THE BUTTON.<br />FOR BUTTON HOLE MEASURE 0.2cm FROM BOTH THE EDGES OF BUTTON, MARK IT WITH DOTTED LINE.<br />LEAVE 1cm SEAM ALLOWANCES FFROM ALL FOUR SIDES.SSS<br />

ONE PIECE COLLAR.<br />TAKE 1 cm UP POINT FROM D AND MARK A POINT D.<br />MEASURE 1.5 cm ONWARD FROM POINT C AND MARK A POINT D.<br />NOW JOIN D & C WITH THE HELP OF A STRAIGHT LINE.<br />TAKE 1cm UP FROM POINT C AND NAMED AS C.<br />JOIN E & F WITH C & D WITH THE HELP OF FRENCH CURVE.<br />NOW TRANSFER THESE BLOCKS ON ANOTHER SHEET.<br />CUT THE CENTRE BLOCK FROM 1ST CUTTING LINE, SHOULDER LINE AND 2ND CUTTING LINE.<br />NOW PASTE THESE PIECES ON THE SAME SHEET AFTER OPENING 3mm DISTANCE ON THE UPWARD DIRECTION.<br />PASTE THE CENTRE BACK BLOCK ON THE SHEET AFTER LEAVING 1cm SEAM ALLOWANCE.<br />
