All Summer in a Day
On Earth we take loads of things for granite that some people do not have--a drink of
water or a sense of dignity, to name a couple. We all need some things to survive. When they are
taken from us, we feel sad or even sick or ill. Ray Bradbury writes All summer in a day, which is
a prime example of how what one person may have may cause some problems for others who
would enjoy to have a certain item.
What would you feel if someone had experienced something you hadn’t? I know that
would make me angry, but I wouldn’t bully them because of them. If I had a choice between
moving to somewhere where the light never shines, I would choose not to. Margot, even though
she is from earth, seems not to enjoy her stay, because of no sun, which provides us with many
nutrients. We all have a say in choices we make. If Margot had a choice, that is. You see-moving
around doesn’t necessarily make people happy, such as me, who has moved 3 times, although I
do not remember any of them that much, because they all took place before school had started
for me. Margot moved when she was six years old, so she can remember everything. Moving is
like a circuit, such as when you move, like me, you pack everything up and so forth.
Even though the sun was not there, you still wonder what would have happened if there
was sunlight on Venus. If there was, I believe that Margot would have obviously been happier,
and maybe not picked on so much by other kids. We all now that life isn’t perfect, but when we
get those little or big things, we get all excited. But when they go, we can be happy, or we can be
depressed.
All in all, the things that we don’t think are that important, are sometimes the most
important at the time. Just because we hide from the sun to protect us, we may also be causing
slight damage because of not enough Vitamin D, which the sun provides.
