In a manifesto, leaders set out their intentions so that people can know what kind of a leader this person will be The manifesto makes the leader’s priorities clear so the people can vote for the leader who matches their own priorities best.
    4. 4. The Island On the Island, the first thing the boys do is elect a leader but they do it very quickly and without a great deal of thought. Imagine they had taken more time... What would the manifestos for the key characters be like?
