  • Challenging fundamental assumptions which have historically underpinned the organisation of education:\nthat expertise and knowledge reside only within the walls of the educational institution\nthat ‘learning’ and ‘schooling’ are different words for the same thing\nthat the easiest and most cost-effective approach to organising learning is within the walls of the school\n
  • Site revolved around content students created and tools that facilitated that creation. Students no longer watched conversations taking place between trusted authors – they were immersed in them themselves. They participated in them. They were doing more than collaborating and interacting – an important distinction:\nCollaborate: to work with one another\nInteract: to act one upon another\nParticipate: to take or have a part or share, as with others.\n
