  3. 3. If you didn't have the book you would need to buy or borrow it</li></li></ul><li>Now<br /><ul><li>The web has made research quicker, cheaper and easier.
  4. 4. A google search will return millions of results in a few seconds
  5. 5. No need to buy new books</li></li></ul><li>Wikipedia<br />How reliable is it?<br />
  6. 6. Editing policies<br /><ul><li>Wikipedia has a strict set of policies which must be adhered to when editing
  7. 7. Just about everything needs an external source

  9. 9. Wiki as a research 'tool'<br /><ul><li>Because Wiki is occasionally wrong it may be wise not to entirely trust its information
  10. 10. Rather than using wikipedia as a primary source of information it can be used like a search engine and can provide links to more credible sites
  11. 11. It's the students responsiblity to ensure the information is correct</li></li></ul><li>Should students be permitted to use online sources for educational purposes?<br /><ul><li>We should embrace technology and use online sources
  12. 12. Not everything online is true but not everything in books is true either</li></li></ul><li>And what about Wikipedia?<br /><ul><li>Wikipedia shouldn't be used as a primary source
  13. 13. Wikipedia should be recommended as a tool for research
