3. 3. Types of Stories
At the coffee shop
Reconnected with family
Fell in love
Started a business
Closed a sale
Made a new friend
Had a brilliant idea
Changed life’s direction
4. 4. Example Story #1
I met my husband at a coffeehouse. I had just moved over to the US from the UK and knew barely anybody. On the weekends I would walk over to the local coffee shop and sit outside watching the world go by with a cup of coffee and a book. One Saturday I was being hit on by an annoying idiot when my husband saved the day. After hearing my accent he asked if I had heard of a town called Helston in Cornwall, UK, which happened to be his last name. The conversation continued and four years later we are happily married!
5. 5. Example Story #2
I learned to play the board game Risk at a coffeehouse near where I live. Sounds odd, learning something like that while at a coffeehouse, the atmosphere doesn't really fit. It was a long game, but I don't think the owners cared since we kept ordering more coffee. Overall it was a fun experience, I learned a new game and got to play it with people I did and didn't know, so I also made a few new friends. Now we play whenever we've got a good group of people together and have nothing better to do.
