Our SAM School OUR 1 ST QUESTION <ul><li>What's the ideal number of students at SAM School (LP, UP, JHS, HS) and why? </li></ul><ul><ul><li>At current enrollment $1MM builds “enough” space </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>However, operations must be subsidized </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Also, JHS and HS enrollment too small </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Lack social complexity </li></ul></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Makes poor use of teaching resources </li></ul></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Increased enrollment requires more space </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>150 sq. ft/student + $150/sqft construction cost = </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>$22,500 capital cost/student = $1.125MM for 50 new students </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>However, operations subsidy reduced/eliminated </li></ul></ul></ul>

Our SAM School OUR 2 ND QUESTION <ul><li>What are the best things about the present spaces (inside and out) in which your children are educated that need to be carried forward, and what do we need that we do not have now? </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Think about experiences, interactions, relationships, safety and learning as they relate to space. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Ignore (for now) rooms, walls, doors, windows, finishes, etc. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Intelligence gained will be used for transition/new space. </li></ul></ul>

Our SAM School OUR 3 RD QUESTION <ul><li>How do we create the future of our school together now (raise money, build, move) and have fun? </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Focus needs to remain on educating children (KPM Approach) </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Teachers and staff need to keep focus on students and their experience </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>How does this look, if we need to raise a large amount of money to subsidize operating or capital expenses? </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Why have we not grown more in the past? </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>This short-term project will impact generations of students </li></ul></ul>
