VIPS is an image processing library for large images. It is fast and uses little memory. It supports multi-CPU machines and has interfaces in C, C++, Python and more. VIPS was created in 1990 for processing large multi-spectral images and has since added support for parallel processing, large files, and improved scaling across CPUs. It provides over 350 image operations and supports many file formats and color spaces.
