Feeding The Feeds in R4D

  1. 1. Feeding the feeds on R4D Using the Research4Development Research portal R4D to store and disseminate your research findings Martin Parr (CABI), Chris Addison (EUFORIC)
  2. 2. <ul><li>R4D is only as good as its content will allow </li></ul><ul><li>It contains details of 5,000 projects </li></ul><ul><li>… and 18,000 documents </li></ul><ul><li>and alerts thousands of users every day when we add new content </li></ul><ul><li>It should include your research </li></ul>
  3. 3. The home page of R4D Users access your content via search engines and feeds
  4. 4. These include targeted feeds from R4D on particular themes and countries
  5. 5. Each feed contains new content added to R4D on a particular subject For ‘Agriculture’ any relevant news, success stories, new projects or project documents that we add to R4D go into the feeds each day These are sent to users as feeds, including website feeds or email alerts
  6. 6. <ul><li>Targeted feeds can be delivered to users in several ways, via: </li></ul><ul><ul><li>a Google personal page, </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>a Newsfeed, </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>as code which can be used to integrate the feed on your website, </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>as a PDF, etc </li></ul></ul>
  7. 7. R4D alerts delivered by newsfeed can also be used to set up targeted alerts via email 1 2

  9. 9. You can create your own targeted feeds from our project database, to create for example a feed of new outputs from a particular programme We can help you set up more complex feeds
