Creativity

 1. 1. Definition of creativity and why it will help me improve my ability to be creative

Something one creates in their mind, like an image or new ideas. Something that can improve one’s life, society or make things easier or better. From the definition I can understand how important creativity is. I can bring more creative thoughts to the way I live ,and help the society.

 2. 2. Some of my personal experiences with creativity

When I was little I wanted a Gameboy, but my parents wouldn’t lend me the money to buy one. I decided to try and make the money myself, so I asked my auntie to have some bananas from her ranch to sell on the street. The first day I didn’t sell a lot, so I made a sign that said , “Very yellow and fresh bananas! Come take a look even if you don’t buy it.” After I put the sign up my business ran better than the first day. When I got a little older my parents let me look after their stores, because they saw I was a good business man. Last summer I was self-employed and sold the items on Ebay, and Kijiji websites. I really enjoy it!

 3. 3. Describe how you believe you are creative

When we were little my younger brother and I made a lot of crafts and toys together, because growing up in China we didn’t have a lot of money to buy toys. One of our favourite toys was a cup telephone we made in order to communicate with each other.

Another toy my friends and I made were bows and arrows made out of sticks we would find outside. We would cut the wood really thin to bend the bow and sharpen the end of the arrows ourselves.

 4. 4. Examples of my abilities

Every morning when I get dressed I like to decide what sort of fashion statement I want to make. I’m very careful about matching my clothing, because I like fashion a lot. The clothes have to match just right (e.g. The jeans, shoes, hat and so on). I also really like to play around with my hair, because hair and the way you dress can tell a lot about what kind of person you are. I have created some different hairstyle to fit my style and dress.

 5. 5. Examples of my creative abilities

I like to express myself through dance and especially break dance. Even if I am not very advanced I still like to try. I learn break dance from the T.V. and internet and I practice by myself quite a bit.

 6. 6. Experiences that increase or decrease your creative abilities and why you believe they did

I think my creative abilities have increased during my life. From selling bananas to helping my parent’s business, and then making my own money selling products on the internet occasionally. Right now I am taking business courses and I believe my past experiences have increased my ability to create new business ideas, so that in the future I will be very successful.

 7. 7.

I moved from China to Canada, and this is one of my biggest experience s. The culture, language, religious, school, society are really different, especially the language. I find I create in Chinese and translate to English. As I become more educated , I find it easier to create in English.

Experiences that increase or decrease your creative abilities and why you believe they did
 8. 8. Why creativity is important aspect of my life

Creativity is a very important aspect of my life. I believe that If we didn’t have creativity , life would be boring. If musicians were not creative then we would have no music. If actors and writers were not creative we would have no movies.

From the creative experience , I have I realized I am good at business and I like dancing, both of which I could be very successful at in the future or make a career for myself.
