Overview <ul><li>My name is Chelsea DaValle </li></ul><ul><li>I started school in 1990 in Pittsburg, California </li></ul><ul><li>I graduated from high school in 2004 in Antioch, California </li></ul><ul><li>I first went to college at Sonoma State University in 2004 </li></ul><ul><li>When I finish my degree, I hope to become middle school mathematics teacher </li></ul>

  6. 6. High school technology <ul><li>Power Point projects were used in my English classes </li></ul><ul><li>There was limited use of the internet, most websites were restricted </li></ul><ul><li>Pagers just went out of style and EVERYONE had a cell phone </li></ul>
  7. 7. College technology <ul><li>Close to 80% of my college professors used power point and different online tools to help teach their classes </li></ul><ul><li>Even though calculators are a helpful tool, as a Math major, most of my Math teachers did not allow the use of them </li></ul>

A technology I want to use in my classroom <ul><li>In my classroom it will be a little tough to incorporate technology, other than calculators </li></ul><ul><li>I would love to assign a project which will allow my students to use the internet, books, and other resources to research mathematicians and put together a short presentation </li></ul>
  10. 10. My vision of the classroom of the future <ul><li>I would like my students to be able to answer the questions of their peers without having to come to me for all of the solutions. </li></ul>
  11. 11. A challenge for teaching The time spent teaching my students how to actually put together a power point presentation for their math project, might lessen the time they get to do the actual project .
