Escuelavieaua group effort
A Milwaukee icon I’ve known for as long as I can remember
A street I would have never taken a second look at has become part of my normal routine.
The area is filled with shops, restaurants, and other small businesses
A sign that caught my eye. While the English is broken the message is clear.
The building blends into the area, hardly noticeable unless you are looking for it.
After school hours there is a steady stream of students, parents, staff, and volunteers going in and out.
The school itself is nothing too special. The people involved are what make it.
Staff is always around keeping an eye on what the students are up to.
The school is kept clean by custodians, teachers, and students.
Students are introduced to Hispanic culture in a variety of ways.
This weeks activity was making cards for Mother’s Day.
Another station set up for the students for Easter.
People volunteer their time to help without any pay or immediate benefit.
Parents are a vital part of the program. They help keep the students involved.
It’s all done for the kids. They are the reason the program exists and they are the ones that keep it alive.
