About Shakespeare <ul><li>He was one of the greatest playwrights of all time. </li></ul><ul><li>He wrote about many romances and tragedies. </li></ul><ul><li>Some plays would include love. </li></ul><ul><li>Some plays would include hate. </li></ul><ul><li>These plays included both: Othello, Romeo and Juliet, and Macbeth. </li></ul>

Hate in Othello <ul><li>The hateful villain was Iago. </li></ul><ul><li>He plotted revenge on Othello for appointing Cassio lieutenant over him. </li></ul><ul><li>He plotted Desdemona and Cassio’s love affair even though it was a lie. </li></ul><ul><li>He killed his own wife. </li></ul><ul><li>He lied, cheated, and stole money. </li></ul>
  4. 4. Love in Othello <ul><li>Othello greatly loved his wife. </li></ul><ul><li>Despite of his race being different from her own, Desdemona loved Othello too. </li></ul><ul><li>She was faithful to him despite his thoughts that she was having an affair. </li></ul>

Love in Romeo and Juliet <ul><li>This play was one of the greatest love tragedies of all time. </li></ul><ul><li>It was about two young lovers falling in love despite what their families and other people thought about it. </li></ul><ul><li>At the end when Romeo died from poison, Juliet killed herself also. </li></ul><ul><li>They truly experienced love at first sight. </li></ul>
  6. 6. Hate in Romeo and Juliet <ul><li>Tybalt murders Mercutio. </li></ul><ul><li>The families hated each other and their names. </li></ul><ul><li>There were many other murders throughout the play. </li></ul><ul><li>The families were selfish. </li></ul>
  7. 7. Hate in Macbeth <ul><li>Macbeth was selfish and wanted to become powerful. </li></ul><ul><li>He killed Duncan while he was sleeping. </li></ul><ul><li>He wanted to plot the death of Macduff’s wife and children. </li></ul>
  8. 8. Love in Macbeth <ul><li>This was a different kind of love. </li></ul><ul><li>Macbeth and Lady Macbeth thought they loved each other. </li></ul><ul><li>Both were very selfish. </li></ul><ul><li>She encouraged him to kill and was the main reason for his downfall. </li></ul>
