You can connect with people all across the world.
You will obtain knowledge and awareness of the different cultures.
Also, learning different languages from people that you connect with is a great social networking benefit!
Another benefit is interacting and possibly connecting with a future client or co-worker.</li></li></ul><li>#3<br />How to Create a Media Kit & News Release:<br />Media Kits are usually in a folder, has information about the company. #5<br />How to interact with Journalist:<br />Many people have found that trying to persuade a Journalist will get you no where, when trying to get your story published.<br />The ways you interact with a journalist is by “asking” what there pet peeves are, don’t hassle them.<br />Once you submit your story, Do not constantly email, fax and/or leave voicemails. <br />Send your news release in an orderly fashion (on time)<br />Let the journalist be the “JOURNALIST”.<br />
#6<br />The More you Write, The More you’ll know<br />Being in public relations, one has to know when to write and how to write about a person or organization.<br />In order to know more about public relations, you have to practice writing it constantly and getting the feel of the world’s response to your writing.<br />In PR Writing, you learn the knowledge of writing and how people can easily be effected by it.<br />Great quote by E. L. Doctorow, “Writing is an exploration. You start from nothing and learn as you go.”<br />
#7<br />How to Gain An Audience in PR:<br />Gaining a audience is a great factor to have when working in this field.<br />Ways to establish an audience is by being apart of social networks such as Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, WordPress.<br />Other ways is by being apart of Public Relations organizations, or attending conventions and etc…<br />By attending and being apart of those things it will help make your work in PR a lot easier.<br />
#8<br />Make first impressions your last impressions:<br />In this profession, how we come across our future clients; whether its an interview or just a meet and greet moment, can change our lives forever.<br />First impressions can simply be our last, that’s why its important to make our first impression a lasting impression.<br />Image is a big factor of everyone’s life, so having a positive, universal personality can get you far.<br />Like Arthur Schopenhauer says, “It is only at the first encounter that a face makes its full impression on us.”<br />
#9<br />How to find and Make News:<br />In doing NewsU.org courses and reading Public Relations Writing & Media Techniques, I’ve learned that making news will only work if you are an effective publicist and writer. <br />Three things an effective publicist need to know are:<br />They must be thoroughly familiar with traditional journalistic news values.<br />They must know where to find news and how to select the angle that will be most interesting to journalists and the public.<br />They must be problem solvers and come up with creative publicity tactics that effectively break through a forest of competing messages.<br />By doing so you will be able to find and make news quickly and easily. <br />
#10<br />How great is blogging:<br />Blogging, just about everyone is apart of it!<br />It’s another way for writers, photographers, businesses to express there opinions and attract audiences from all over the world.<br />Like many trends, blogging has become a fast growing socially opinionated network where everyone wants to be heard.<br />Blogging can help give you great writing skills and based upon how you write, people will begin subscribing and commenting to your blogs.<br />Try it you’ll like it <br />
