  2. 2. WHAT DID YOU CONSIST OF? <ul><li>My work consists of transporting people from one place to another in order to feed my family with what I earn from the passengers. </li></ul>
  3. 3. What tools did you use? Why? <ul><li>He used very few tools like a boat and two oars. </li></ul>
  4. 4. EXPLAIN AN ORDINARY DAY IN YOUR LIFE <ul><li>I wake when the sun rises. My wife had already done the day before breakfast, lunch and dinner because I always come back when the sun is no longer there. Usually, I spend one day to transport about twenty people. In the morning is when I transport most of the people.  </li></ul><ul><li>I do not go far away from the coast because my boat is not comfortable at times. </li></ul>

  6. 6. What did you eat? <ul><li>My wife almost always made me bread with ham what it was delicious!!!! </li></ul>
  7. 7. HOW MUCH DID YOU EARN? <ul><li>Boatmen usually has a salary every month, which is enough to feed their family. </li></ul>
  8. 8. <ul><li>I work on top of a boat carrying people and occasionally repairing the boat. </li></ul>Where did you work? Was it in the openair? Or in a workshop? Describe your workplace?
  9. 9. <ul><li>There are two people working for me on two other boats. </li></ul>
  10. 10. Who did you work for? <ul><li>Working for a rich merchant who had many entrepreneurs. </li></ul>
  11. 11. Did you enjoy your job? Did you think it was useful? <ul><li>I really enjoyed and I felt very useful because with what I earned, I could feed me and my family. </li></ul>
  12. 12. How many orders did you have in a day? On a day I used to have about twenty people, but on Saturdays and Sundays was between forty and fifty.
  13. 13. WHO WERE YOUR CUSTOMERS? <ul><li>My clients are not usually very rich although sometimes I had some. </li></ul><ul><li>  The rich were some nasty people around and always gave great tips. </li></ul>
  14. 14. I used the same clothes that when I was down the street.
  15. 15. Did you wear any safety clothing? Which ones? <ul><li>I do not use any safety clothing because it is too expensive and even to allow it was for the richest, although it is very dangerous. </li></ul>
  16. 16. Did you have a permanent hour to finish your work? <ul><li>I am always back at home when the sun sets, sometimes I like speaking with the other workers. </li></ul>
  17. 17. How many hours did you work in a day? <ul><li>We worked about fifteen hours each day, including Saturday and Sunday. </li></ul>
  18. 18. <ul><li>It was hard because I work too much, I sail and I meet new people. </li></ul>
  19. 19. Did you like it? Why? I like very much because I meet new people and also because I like sailing and traveling.
  20. 20. <ul><li>I bought my boat to a rich merchant. I gave the boat in exchange for two chickens and a roof rack. </li></ul>
  21. 21. Could women also do this job? The women could not work in this job because they thought it was too dangerous to put a woman sailing a boat. Although it was not true.
  22. 22. At what age did you start working? Was there an age of retirement? <ul><li>I started working when I was seven years like many others who were not rich.  </li></ul><ul><li>People died when they were between forty and forty-five years old. </li></ul>
