Del.icio.us Tags <ul><li>Social bookmarking is a great way to keep track of your favorite web resources and be able to access them from any computer </li></ul><ul><li>Del. ic . ious .com is one place that can do this for you </li></ul><ul><li>After you create your account, you will be prompted to install the “extensions” so that you can begin tagging your sites </li></ul>
  5. 5. A Digital world <ul><li>Literacy: New Definition </li></ul><ul><li>The definition of literacy has evolved to include the ability to read and write not only print material but also a unique array of visual signs, systems, and symbols. </li></ul>

  7. 7. Educating Digital Natives <ul><li>Web 2.0 tools have made the Internet a 'platform' as opposed to the 'medium' it once was. We used to do our work on our desktop computers and then used the web to send it to someone or to post it as a personal web page. Now we do our work ON the web. The platform changed from being our desktop computer to the web. Now, with web 2.0 tools we can do almost anything we can imagine, and share it with the world. </li></ul>A New Frontier: Web 2.0 Tools <ul><li>Wiki - The simplest online database that could possibly work. Wiki is a piece of server software that allows users to freely create and edit Web page content using any Web browser. Wiki supports hyperlinks and has a simple text syntax for creating new pages and crosslinks between internal pages on the fly . (http://www. wiki . org/wiki . cgi ? WhatIsWiki ) </li></ul><ul><li>Pbwiki(somewhat dull), tiddlywiki (somewhat complicated) </li></ul><ul><li>Wetpaint wiki (fun and easy but has advertisements) </li></ul><ul><li>Wikispaces (my favorite for teachers with ad-free spaces !!) </li></ul>
