THE BEGINNING <ul><li>Mother’s day is celebrated on the fourth Sunday of Lent. </li></ul><ul><li>It started in Christian churches, when believers of the faith would go to visit the church. </li></ul><ul><li>They believed they would be reunited with their mother. </li></ul><ul><li>Began Ireland </li></ul>
  3. 3. The United States <ul><li>In the United states it is celebrated a different day. </li></ul><ul><li>It is celebrated the second Sunday in March. </li></ul><ul><li>It was taken from the same beliefs as Ireland. </li></ul>
  4. 4. Different Names <ul><li>Mothering Sunday- basic concept just different name. </li></ul><ul><li>Rose Sunday- This is because the robes that are worn in the church are changed from purple to red, therefore giving the name Rose Sunday. </li></ul>
