Tv Advert Analysis

 1. 1. TV Advert Analysis
TH!NK campaign-kill you’re speed or live with it advert analysis
2. 2. Who is the target audience for this advertisement ?
The target audience for this advert is clearly aimed at the average car owner/parent.
You can tell this because he seems like a normal working class dad just trying to get his work done throughout the advert.
But he can’t because of the child he ran over is haunting him in a sense, and he can’t let it go,
I think the advert is trying to get across how badly it affects people and that these people car accidents effect aren’t special there everyday people
3. 3. What is the message communicated by this advertisement ?
I think the advert is trying to warn the viewers of the dangers of a car accident and how it doesn’t just effect the person who gets hit by the car, but the driver of the car as well and how difficult it is to live with knowing you could have killed, or seriously injured some-one .
The advert gives plenty of examples of day to day activities that have been ruined by the car accident just because his own conscience can’t let him get over the gravity of the situation and how he’s haunted by the image of this child.
4. 4. How is this message communicated through moving image and sound ?
In this scene he can’t even bear to look at the child and the way he looks away adds to the effect of the advert and helps get across the message of how unbearable his life's become.
Throughout the advert the sounds are all very droll and gloomy but in this scene especially we here him sigh and almost burst into tears which clearly shows how distraught he feels
I think the biggest way the advert communicates the consequences is the way the child haunts him the way it never changes or moves through out and just stays in that same position adds to the emotion and impact of the advert
5. 5. Are there any other visual devices used to communicate the message ?
The weather in this advert helps get across the way the man feels and helps show how depressed he is and gives the scene a gloomy feel.
also the way no one else seems to be able to see the boy represents how its his own personal struggle and how its nothing but his fault , scaring the viewer by showing them what they could have to suffer with .
