1. 1. A revolution that can truly change the world for the better. In the business of saving our planet.
 2. 2. Why we care

Greenhouse gas emissions are causing the Earth’s climate to change in a way that has disastrous consequences for the environment and every species that inhabits the earth.

Our atmosphere has 32% more carbon than it did just two hundred years ago at the start of the industrial revolution.

Scientists have concluded that the glaciers are receding, the earth’s ice caps are melting, and powerful and destructive storms are becoming more frequent.

Our energy intensive CANADIAN lifestyle and natural resource based economy make us one of the worst offenders in the world.

Canadians contribute 24 tonnes CO2e per capita. Third behind Australia and the US.

 3. 3. What Can We Do? STEP 1: Conservation We all need to reduce the emissions side of the equation through conservation . Even a little can save a lot. STEP 2: Offsetting The hope of eliminating ALL our emissions is unrealistic in today’s energy intensive lifestyle. Carbon Offsetting allows us to take responsibility for the remaining emissions , closing the gap between conservation and zero impact.
 4. 4. What is Carbon Offsetting? Carbon Offsetting is a new way to reduce your environmental impact by MATCHING your emissions with environmental projects around the world that reduce, eliminate or avoid carbon emissions. If you match your emissions with carbon offsets, your total environmental impact becomes neutral – ‘carbon neutral’
 5. 5. Here’s how it works: Emissions are greenhouse gases that are released into the atmosphere whenever fossil fuels are burned to generate electricity, heat homes and buildings, drive cars, run industry or fly airplanes. These gases not only pollute the air we breathe everyday but also accelerate global warming by insulating the earth’s atmosphere, absorbing and trapping the sun’s heat.
 6. 6. Here’s How it works: Carbon Offsets are the benefits from environmental projects that avoid, reduce, and eliminate gases from the atmosphere. These benefits are quantified by third party verifiers and then sold or traded as ‘carbon offsets’. Examples of Carbon Offset projects include Renewable Energy, Tree planting, High efficiency transportation, Low till farming, Co-Generation, High efficiency fuel & technologies.
 7. 7. Going Carbon Neutral Carbon Offsetting is based on the principle that since climate change is a global problem, an emission reduction made elsewhere has the same net positive effect as a reduction made locally. EMISSIONS CARBON OFFSETS CARBON NEUTRAL If you MATCH your emissions with carbon offsets, your total environmental impact becomes neutral – ‘carbon neutral’
 8. 8. Carbon Offsetting is…

Socially & Environmentally responsible

Contributing to the Global Community

Generating good will with shareholders, employees, clients and suppliers

Affordable

Convenient and immediate

Proactive

For our future generations

 9. 9. Voluntary Offset Leaders Companies and individuals are now taking responsibility for the personal and professional environmental impact. A few examples…

Gas: Esso offers offset at the pump

Manufacturers: carpet, clothing, coffee

Services: Flower delivery, taxis

Utilities and power providers

Schools & Churches: The Vatican

Rock groups: Rolling Stones, BNL

Events; weddings

Banks: Royal Bank

Rewards programs: MBNA, American Express

Sporting Events: Olympics, Super Bowl, Grey Cup

Airlines: Air Canada, West Jet

Hotels (Hyatt)

Feature Films, Documentaries, books

Conferences & Conventions

Wells Fargo, Whole Foods, World bank

Cities: Vail, CO

Universities and Colleges

 10. 10. LivClean Corp. now offers a Carbon Offset Program that will immediately neutralize the greenhouse gases created by your home, car, air travel or business. With LivClean anyone can go Carbon Neutral!!
 11. 11. Greening your Business: LivClean Carbon Neutral program provides socially conscientious businesses with an immediate and affordable environmental initiative. By adopting this meaningful contribution to the global community, you will generate good will with your customers, employees, shareholders and suppliers.
 12. 12. Credibility

LivClean is very particular about which projects it chooses to invest in. Projects must provide global climate benefits and met these strict requirements:

Projects must be efficient

Projects must have additional, long-term benefits to the communities that undertake them

Add something extra

No Double-Counting

Accurate Measurement

Independent Verification

 13. 13. Project Portfolio

Des Plaines Landfill Gas Project

The emission reduction project located at the Des Plaines landfill in Illinois uses most of the landfill gas to support a 3500 kilowatt electrical generating facility – enough electricity to power 3500 homes.

Nicaragua Brick Kilns This project displaces the wood fuel used to fire the artisan’s brick kilns by introducing energy efficiency improvements and encouraging the use of agricultural residue as fuel. Sustainable Tree Planting Located in Tanzania, India, Kenya and Uganda, this project reduces greenhouse gas emissions by encouraging the growth of trees to achieve long-term CO2 sequestration. This project has planted 10 trees for each tonne of CO2 and uses a 10 year crediting period, compared to an industry standard of one tree per tonne and a 35-100 year crediting period.
 14. 14. Together, LivClean and Your Association can truly change the planet for the better.
