  2. 2. What is a wiki??? <ul><li>A website that allows visitors to add, remove, edit and change content. </li></ul><ul><li>It also allows for linking among any number of pages and websites. </li></ul><ul><li>It is easy to use and an effective tool for collaborative authoring. </li></ul>
  3. 3. Creating your Account <ul><li>Click JOIN </li></ul>
  4. 4. Fill In <ul><li>Username: first name last initial </li></ul><ul><li>EX. Marlap </li></ul><ul><li>Password: write it down!!!! </li></ul><ul><li>Email: one that works! </li></ul><ul><li>Make a Wiki? NO </li></ul><ul><li>your username will be how the teacher credits you for your work. </li></ul>

Requesting Permission <ul><li>After you have Joined. </li></ul><ul><li>You MUST Request Permission to join the multimediamadness wikispace. </li></ul><ul><li>If you do not see this page, you should type in into your browser again. </li></ul>*Note- It may take a couple minutes for me to approve you. You can’t go on until you are approved!!
  6. 6. Find your group page <ul><li>Each group has a link on the left side of the page. Once your membership has been accepted, click on your group name to redirect to your group’s page. </li></ul>

  9. 10. Editing your page <ul><li>INSERTING TEXT </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Click on <Edit this page> </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>ONLY ONE PERSON can edit at a time. You may want to cut and paste your work from MS Word and save it right away. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Use the discussion tab to communicate with your group. </li></ul></ul>

Editing your page <ul><li>INSERTING LINKS </li></ul><ul><li>If you have a website that you want to add to your page….. </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Click on <Edit this page>. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Highlight the link you wish </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>to add from your source. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Click on the link button </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Choose external link </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Paste the weblink from </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>another source. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Click ADD Link </li></ul></ul>

Editing your page. <ul><li>EMBEDDING WIDGETS </li></ul><ul><li>What is a Web Widget ? </li></ul><ul><li>A web widget is a mini-web application you can put in your web page, blog or social profile that can quickly and easily provide your visitors with, user specific information , extra functionality, and even a bit of fun and games. </li></ul><ul><li>A widget is available in a ready-to-use formats and are visually attractive and customizable by the user. It takes the form of pictures, graphs, statistics, summary, or just numbers. </li></ul><ul><li>Its a snippet of HTML code which is available from the website which hosts the widget. you can &quot;copy&quot; that code and &quot;embed&quot; in your web page. </li></ul>

Editing your page <ul><li>Embedding A Widget </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Create and save one using the appropriate application. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Click on <Edit this page> </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Click on the TV icon </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Select the type of widget you are using. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Follow the directions provided </li></ul></ul>
