1. GOAL STATEMENTS:

safer drinking choices
• Enhance student knowledge of risk-reduction strategies

• Increase the percentage of students who use protective behaviors while drinking to
reduce their risks related to alcohol
•Reduce negative academic outcomes that students experience as a result of alcohol
use
2. OBJECTIVES:
• Decrease the percentage of Penn State students who missed a class due to
alcohol use from 32.4% to 27.4% by Fall 2010
•Decrease the percentage of male Penn State students who report high-risk
drinking from 29.9% to 24.9% by Fall 20101
•Decrease the percentage of female Penn State students who report high-risk
drinking from 27.6% to 22.6% by Fall 20101
• Increase the percentage of Penn State students who keep track of how many
drinks they have had from 48.4% to 53.4% by Fall 2010
• Increase the percentage of Penn State students who report a BAC of <0.08 for
their peak drinking behavior from 22.7% to 27.7% by Fall 2010
