Interesting facts <ul><li>Iraq is located in Asia, part of the Gulf. </li></ul><ul><li>Mesopotamia which is now Iraq was the structure of civilization. </li></ul><ul><li>The Tower of Babel was in Iraq. </li></ul><ul><li>The &quot;Empire of Man&quot; described in Revelation is called Babylon which was a city in Iraq. </li></ul>

Economy <ul><li>Iraq's economy is dominated by the oil sector, which has traditionally provided about 95% of foreign exchange earnings. </li></ul><ul><li>Iraq was allowed to export limited amounts of oil in exchange for food and medicine. </li></ul><ul><li>Iraq has a small industrial sector which products chemicals, textiles, cement, food products, construction materials, leather goods, and machinery </li></ul>

Social <ul><li>The government claims to support equality for women who make up about 20% of the work force. </li></ul><ul><li>Although Iraq's constitution guarantees individual rights, the government sharply limits political freedoms and tolerates little public expression of dissent. </li></ul>
  8. 8. Social 2 <ul><li>Women are not allowed to travel alone unaccompanied by a man. </li></ul><ul><li>The government kills opponents that they have. </li></ul><ul><li>Men may retire at the age of 60 after working for 20 years and women may retire at the age of 55. </li></ul>

History <ul><li>A long time ago Iraq was known as Mesopotamia </li></ul><ul><li>Mesopotamia was conquered by Cyrus the Great of Persia in 538 B.C. and by Alexander in 331 B.C. </li></ul><ul><li>On July the 16 th in 1967, Saddam Hussein became president instead of preadint Bakr. </li></ul><ul><li>In March 17 th of 2003, PRESIDENT Bush asked Saddam Husein to leave or war will happen within 48 hours. </li></ul><ul><li>On March the 20 th war began against USA an Iraq at 5:30 am. </li></ul><ul><li>In December the 13 th, Saddam Hussein was found hiding and executed him in December 2006. </li></ul>
