1. 1. Home Remedies: COMMON COLD
Presented By Glenn Kim
Ha, ha, ha….
Wait, what?
2. 2. What is the common cold?
You all may know the common cold. It is also known as “acute coryza “ (Common Cold Remedies). You probably had it once before and you probably know the symptoms and causes. The common cold, by definition, is an inflammation of the upper respiratory tract. As you can guess by the name, it occurs the most commonly out of all viruses and diseases.
3. 3. How can YOU get the common cold?
Obviously, you can get the cold if you’re exposed to the virus. For example, if you get too close to someone who has a cold, you might get the virus. Low vitality, coldness, lack of sleep, depression, fatigue, changes in temperature, and so on are all ways of getting this virus. Since there are numerous ways to get this virus, it’s no surprise that it is the most commonly occurred disease.
4. 4. Multi-Media!!!!

This video contains information about the common cold. There are also other videos that follow up that talk about symptoms and how to cure them.
If you want to read the text on this photo, go to the bibliography and find this picture or click here.

FYI: This is actually a podcast.
5. 5. Home Cures!!! (I mean, like, other than home medicines)
The lemon
The juice inside the lemon contains high amounts of vitamin C, which increases body resistance, decreases toxicity, and shortens the length of the cold. For this to work, you need to mix the lemon juice with water and with a teaspoon of honey. This should be taken at least twice a day.
6. 6. More…….
If you’re wondering what this is, it’s just a random video about common cold cures.
The Garlic
Actually, I meant garlic soup, which should be prepared by boiling three or four cloves of chopped garlic. This soup should be drunk once a day. According to, “Garlic contains antiseptic and antispasmodic properties, besides several other medicinal virtues. The oil contained in this vegetable helps to open up the respiratory passages. In soup form, it flushes out all toxins from the system and thus helps bring down fever. Five drops of garlic oil combined with a teaspoon of onion juice, and diluted in a cup of water, should be drunk two to three times a day” (Common Cold Home Remedies). (There are various ways in which a garlic soup can be made; the one I listed was just one way. For the same reason, I will not put a picture for this soup)
7. 7. And more…..
The Ginger
Yet another vegetable can be the savior of your irritating virus. Ten grams of ginger should be cut into small pieces and boiled. They should be then strained and a teaspoon of sugar should be added as well. Ginger tea, made from adding a few small slices of ginger into boiling water before putting the leaves in, is also a good remedy. These are remedies for treating colds and coughs.
8. 8. Okay, I think you’ve got quite enough remedies by now.
The lady’s finger
No, I do not mean someone’s finger. I mean this: ... Okay good, I’m glad we clarified that. Since these veggies are rich in mucilage, it makes a good treatment for the irritation of the throat and a persistent dry cough. That isn’t the only reason though. It also fights against irritation, swelling, and pain. For more information to put this veggie in an effective treatment, go to
Ewwwwwww…… a veggie!
