PLACEMAKING<br />THE ART OF PLACE MAKING IS THE USE OF SOUND PLANNING AND DESIGN PRINCIPLES TO CREATE SPACES THAT MEET OUR BASIC NEEDS AND ENRICH OUR EXPERIENCES WITH THE BUILT ENVIROMENT<br />THE FOLLOWING SLIDE SHOW IS A COLLECTION OF PROJECTS THAT I HAVE HAD THE GREAT FORTUNE TO BE INOLVED WITH THEIR DESIGN, CONSTRUCTION AND IMPLEMENTATION<br />

THIS IS HIGHLIGHTED HERE BY STONECREST MEDIAL CENTER WHICH.<br />STONECREST MEDICAL CENTER<br />150 BED FACILITY WITH <br />FULL DIAGNOSTIC IMAGING CENTER<br />STATE OF THE ART EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT<br />4 OPERATING ROOMS<br />10 BED INTENSIVE CARE UNIT<br />FULL SERVICE LABOR AND DELIVERY WING WITH ITS OWN SURGICAL SUITE<br />

BRISTOL SOUTHSIDE<br />IN THE HEART OF THE SOUTHSIDE DISTRICT OF DOWNTOWN BIRMINGHAM, THIS BUILDING IS CITED IN SUCH A WAY THAT IT STARTS TO DEFINE THE URBAN PARAMETERS TO THE STREET, ALLOWING PEDESTRIANS TO FLOW COMFORTABLE NEXT TO CROSS TOWN TRAFFIC. AS SEEN IN THIS PHOTO, THE RESIDENTS OF THIS COMMUNITY HAVE GREAT ACCESS TO MASS TRANSIT, THROUGH THE USE OF THE CITY’S TROLLEY SYSTEM <br />
  5. 5. BRISTOL SOUTHSIDE<br />BY PROVIDING GARDEN STYLE AMENITIES IN AN URBAN SETTING, WITH A CLUB, FITNESS CENTER, AND PRIVATE POOL, BRISTOL SOUTHSIDE SATISFIES SOME OF THE BASIC COMMUNITY NEEDS OF ITS RESIDENTS<br />
  6. 6. BRISTOL SOUTHSIDE<br />BRISTOL SOUTHSIDE OFFERS A VARIETY OF HOME SIZES STARTING WITH THE EFFICIENCIES AND WORKING UP TO A COLLECTION OF 3 BEDROOMS. THERE IS ALSO ON-SITE STORAGE UNITS AS YOU MIGHT FIND IN A MORE SUBURBAN SETTING HOME<br />
  7. 7. BRISTOL WEST END<br />NESTLED IN THE HEART OF THE VANDERBILT CAMPUS, WE WORKED WITH THE FAMILY THAT OWNED THE LAND TO TURN THEIR LONG TERM INVESTMENT INTO A NEW BUSTLING COMMUNITY<br />
  8. 8. BRISTOL WEST END<br />BRISTOL WEST END IS DESIGNED WITH AN INTERNAL COURTYARD WHICH IS EQUIPPED WITH A LAP POOL, SEATING AREA AROUND A FIREPLACE, AND TWO GRILLING STATIONS <br />
