  4. 4. Organisation Nomination of key personnel and their relevant duties Provision of competent advice – safety, occ health, emergencies, first aid etc. Key duties – RA, control of contractors etc. May specify “H&S Director” Organisation flow chart may be a good idea
  5. 5. Arrangements The systems and procedures necessary to put the policy into effect and will include systems and procedures for: Risk Assessment Housekeeping Monitoring (proactive and reactive) Maintenance of machinery First aid Fire safety
  6. 6. Arrangements cont. Emergency procedures PPE Safe systems of work Consultation – involvement of safety reps Permit to work systems Hazardous substances Accident investigation – statistics Near misses
  7. 7. Arrangements cont. Occupational Health Manual Handling DSE – eye tests, glasses Medicals & health surveillance Lines of communication
