Digital Storytelling? <ul><li>What is it? </li></ul><ul><ul><li>DS refers to using new digital tools to help ordinary people to tell their own real-life stories. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>DS is a digital narrative (web-based stories, interactive stories, hypertexts, and narrative computer games). </li></ul></ul>

Tell me more… <ul><li>DS is a grassroots movement. </li></ul><ul><li>DS is a compelling and emotionally-engaging form of communication. </li></ul><ul><li>Stories are short (less than 8 minutes). </li></ul><ul><li>Could be interactive. </li></ul><ul><li>Definition of DS is still the subject of much debate.. </li></ul>

Can it do more? <ul><li>The Center for Digital Storytelling model- adopted in education (especially in the US) </li></ul><ul><li>DS is used as a method of building engagement and multimedia literacy. </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Some employ DS as a means of engaging and empowering at-risk youth. </li></ul></ul>
