Evaluation 3

 1. 1. Evaluation 3 What kind of institution might distribute your media product and why
 2. 2. My magazine my magazines has some similarities with the VIBE as in there magazines they include all the artists that are being interviewed they put it at the top or the bottom i put this in my magazine as it shows the big stars everyone is talking about and as it is at the top its the first thing people see Competitions to hook the reader in and to tempt the reader into purchasing my magazine this is used in most magazines and helps too influence a purchase British hip hop magazines are a bit of a niche this would mean less competition is around therefore I can charge more for my magazine which could appeal to the magazine institution.
 3. 3. Media institution

A possible institution could be Harris Publications Inc

This company make many other magazines of Scratch Magazine, SLAM Magazine, 0-60, all of theme magazines connect with my reader of magazine as it contains a DJ magazine which is heavily used within the hip hop genre as well as the other magazines containing basketball and cars

I feel this is a good choice as other magazines are of the same interests to most hip hop viewers and could offer special promotions to buy one magazine and get one from the same company half price and the sales of this company made $15.7M last year adding to this the company only has 3 major competitors which could lead to more market share for this institution

Alpha Media Group Keepsake Quilting Source Enterprises

 4. 4. Distribution

Distribution for my magazine would be to start of in the usual places such as newsagents and big supermarkets such as Asda and Tesco as these have a very big audience and could lead to most of sales of my magazine once the audience has seen my magazine and sales are starting to kick off I would introduce a online version which is cheaper which would help build a good relationship with pressure groups such as Greenpeace as we are making it cheaper for customers to not use paper as well as making my magazine move forward with technology as 70% of households had access in 2009 which could lead to less money spent publishing and printing leading to more profits
