General information <ul><li>The total area is 17 840 000 km² </li></ul><ul><li>The population is 382 000 000 </li></ul><ul><li>There are 12 countries </li></ul><ul><li>The languages are Portuguese, Spanish, French, Dutch, English, Quechua, Aymara, Guariní </li></ul><ul><li>The largest cities are São Paulo, Buenos Aires, Rio de Janeiro, Bogotá, Lima, Santiago and Caracas </li></ul>

Venezuela <ul><li>26,023,528 inhabitants, 93.4 % of this population live in the urban area </li></ul><ul><li>official language is spanish but there are numerous native languages. </li></ul><ul><li>Young population > people between 15-64 years represent 63.4 %. </li></ul><ul><li>Fertility rate is around 2.55 children per woman </li></ul><ul><li>96 % of the population belongs to the Roman catholic Church and 2 % is Protestant . </li></ul>

Chile <ul><li>The surface is 756.626 km 2 </li></ul><ul><li>Santiago is the capital </li></ul><ul><li>There are 16,4 million inhabitant and </li></ul><ul><li>it has a growth of 1,1% per year </li></ul><ul><li>The population consist of White and </li></ul><ul><li>White-mestizos people. </li></ul><ul><li>The first spoken language is Spanish. </li></ul><ul><li>89% of the inhabitants are catholic </li></ul><ul><li>and 11% is protestant </li></ul>

Brazil <ul><li>The fifth largest country by geographical area. </li></ul><ul><li>The fifth most populous country and the fourth most populous democracy in the world. </li></ul><ul><li>The coastline is nearly 7500 kilometers </li></ul><ul><li>Largest city is São Paulo </li></ul><ul><li>Portuguese </li></ul><ul><li>The total area is about 8,5 million square meters </li></ul><ul><li>200 million inhabitants </li></ul>

  13. 13. Venezuela and oil price <ul><li>Venezuela wants to keep the price high </li></ul><ul><li>If the price continues to shrink, the country would decide to reduce the total production of the organisation </li></ul><ul><li>But the country wants to increase its own production </li></ul>
  14. 14. The future role of Brazil <ul><li>Offshore oil discovery could help to make Brazil a major petroleum exporter </li></ul><ul><li>But the country needs time before starting the full exploitation (not before 2013) </li></ul>
